Making your own charcoal with a class can be a fun outdoor task to do! And then you can use it in your classroom for various purposes.
Concrete / Shape Poetry
With this technique, learners can practice their spelling by creating pictures out of words! Here are some ideas:
- Characteristics of your favorite animal in the shape of that animal;
- A picture dictation in words, eg. write "there is a tree in the middle of the picture" in the shape of a tree;
- Happy birthday wishes in the shape of a cake.
