Common European Framework of Reference - in Depth

In 2016, Christian Amsler already indicated that LP21 for languages was outdated and it's currently 10 years later and it hasn't changed!
Think about the following:
- Could you listen to a child / look at their writing and know what CEFR level they are at and how you can support them in getting to the next level?
- The CEFR is one system of describing language and levels - are there other systems? How was this system designed? How do testing organizations like Cambridge use the CEFR and contribute to its development?
- If the statement in LP 21 about English was "Learners should be at an A2 level by the end of primary based on the Companion Volume to the CEFR", what would this mean for your teaching and for your assessment?
